About Maya

Maya Lilly is a graduating senior from the University of Texas at Austin Class of 2024. She is a dedicated student who has excelled inside and outside the classroom while at UT Austin. Maya started her college career as a government major and interned for Senator Royce West during her freshman year. After deciding government was not for her, Maya changed her major to advertising and has not looked back since.

Throughout college, Maya participated in several extracurriculars including  Texas Black Homecoming Marketing Chair, Texas Traditions Communications Chair, and as a Texas Student Recruiter for UT's Office of Admissions. Maya also had the opportunity to Study abroad in South Africa where she studied Urban and Economic Development and most recently took part in the UTNY program where she interned at NBCUniversal in New York City.

The most notable moments from Maya's college experience are by far the coursework that challenged her and the professors that supported her along the way. Since coming to college Maya has grown exponentially and is ready for her next adventure. However, she will never forget the memorable experiences she gained from UT Austin and those who have made the past four years possible. 

Maya extends her heartfelt gratitude to her grandparents, W.K. and Dorothy Thompson, whose profound belief in the power of education has been a guiding force in her life. Their legacy continues to inspire her every day.
